DERRICK J. AUSTIN, MBA BUSINESS COACH & FAMILY BUSINESS ADVISOR
Derrick Austin is a Company Director of Future Market Trends Pty Ltd, a privately owned company, incorporated in 1987, which also owns and operates Coaching First Australia, an Australian Business Coaching Firm. The firm was started in June, 2002 by Derrick, after spending twelve months gaining accreditation as a coach from The Life Coaching Academy, based at Bond University, one of three major private training schools for coaches in Australia. Derrick is also a member of the International Coach Federation, which is based in the USA. His coaching and business skills have been gained through a variety of private and public firms, and he has over twenty years management experience in various industries. His firm offers Personal Coaching, Business Coaching, Executive Coaching, Mentoring, Facilitating and Consulting services. Derrick is now on a mission to help business be more competitive in this globalised world, by improving performance of people and businesses.
Prior to this, Derrick spent seven years as General Manager of a large public company, NCI Industries, which employed over twelve hundred people in Australasia. In this role Derrick was responsible for the group engineering division, supplying products and services to fourteen manufacturing sites in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
The engineering division gained accreditation to ISO 9001 Quality Standard under Derrick’s leadership, becoming one of the few firms at that time to have the highest level of quality accreditation in Australia and around the world.
Derrick commenced his career as an Industrial Engineer in the aircraft industry, moving into project management and then into management of both private and public firms, with five years in management consulting with Hay Associates, an international USA based firm specialising in human resources.
With over 20 years in management experience in various industries, Derrick’s main interests are continuous learning through a coaching approach and improving the performance of people.
